The objectives of this nonfiction book, Professional Development in Community Corrections: A Case Study, are multifold. First, we endeavor to educate leaders, practitioners, criminal justice agencies, scholars, and citizens of the significance of community corrections. In this book, we aim to examine the roles and responsibilities of criminal justice practitioners. An examination of the supervision processes between probation officers and case managers will help us understand the implication of assisting federal offenders with special needs. To understand the influences of the criminal justice practitioner, an examination into the frameworks of education, training, leadership and management was necessary for professional development in community corrections.
